If you came here looking for a single fixed price, here’s the honest truth up front: there isn’t one — and a single price can be misleading because every wedding has different coverage hours, locations, deliverables and production requirements.
We’re Scene Stealers’ Creations, a Kelowna studio for wedding photography and videography. This is the same explanation we’d give you sitting across a table: how wedding photography pricing actually works, what shapes a quote, and why we build every quote around your event instead of slotting you into a preset package.
Why there’s no single number
Wedding photography isn’t a fixed product. A 3-hour elopement and a multi-day celebration with photography and videography are not the same purchase, even though both get called “wedding photography.” Hours, locations, team size, production needs — they all move the number. That’s why a single “average price” would be meaningless even if someone could calculate one.
So instead of a price menu, here’s what actually helps: understanding how a real quote gets built — and how we build ours.
How we build your quote
Every Scene Stealers quote starts with your event, not a package list:
1. We understand your timeline. When the day starts, the key moments, the venues — and how many events or functions we’re covering.
2. We determine the coverage hours you actually need. Not a preset “6-hour package” — the hours your timeline genuinely requires.
3. We look at photography, videography, or both. Each changes the team, the equipment and the production involved.
4. We consider the event itself. Size, complexity, ceremony and reception locations, travel, and production requirements.
5. We build your custom quote. One clear number for your event — including the editing and production work, and the team we decide your event needs.
Nothing you don’t need, no preset bundle forcing services on you, and no surprise editing bill after the event. What’s in the quote is the whole picture.
Our starting prices
For local Kelowna and Okanagan coverage, our starting prices are $95/hour for photography and $210/hour for videography. These hourly starting points are not intended to be used as a simple hourly calculation for a complete wedding package — final wedding quotes are based on the full scope of coverage, locations, team requirements, editing, production and deliverables. Those are starting points for the conversation: not a price list, and not a promise that your quote equals the rate times the hours.
Your final number depends on your timeline, locations, number of events, production needs, and whether you need photo, video, or both.
Two things those rates already account for: the editing and production work for local coverage is included in your quote — never a separate surprise charge. And team staffing is our call, not yours — if your event needs more coverage, it’s built into the one quote, not billed as separate hourly wages per team member.
What shapes your final quote
These are the levers that move any wedding photography quote in Kelowna — ours included:
- Coverage hours. The single biggest factor. A short celebration and a full day are different purchases, not different prices for the same thing. Use your actual timeline — not a package name — to think about how much you need.
- Your wedding timeline. Getting-ready moments, the ceremony, portraits, the reception — the shape of your day decides the hours, and the hours decide much of the quote.
- Ceremony and reception locations. One venue or several, Kelowna or further into the Okanagan — locations affect time on the ground and travel.
- Number of events or functions. A single-day wedding and a multi-day celebration are quoted differently around the full scope of events, not as stacked single-day rates.
- Size and complexity. Guest count, bridal party size, the number of moving parts — complexity takes time, and time is what you’re buying.
- Photography, videography, or both. Each is its own craft with its own team and production. Combined coverage from one studio is usually more efficient than hiring two separate vendors.
- Team and staffing. Larger or more complex events need more hands. We make that call based on your event, and it’s folded into your quote — you don’t shop for individual shooters or pay line-item rates per team member.
- Travel. If you’re marrying outside Kelowna, get the travel terms in writing before you compare numbers.
- Production requirements. Anything beyond straightforward coverage — special setups, the scale of what’s being filmed — changes the shape of the quote.
- Editing and delivery. Professional editing is real work and it’s part of what you’re paying for. Ask what’s included in any quote you receive — and be wary of one that treats editing as an afterthought.
Elopements, micro-weddings and multi-day celebrations
Not every wedding is an 8-hour Saturday. If your plans are small — an elopement, a micro-wedding, an intimate celebration — say so upfront. Shorter coverage costs less than a full wedding day, and a custom quote means you’re not paying for hours you don’t need.
On the other end: if your celebrations span multiple days or events, the quote is built around the full scope, not multiplied day rates. Multi-day timelines are one of the first things we work through with couples.

Wedding photography and videography, together
There’s a practical reason couples book one Kelowna studio for both: a photo and video team that already works together moves as one unit — no stepping on each other’s shots, no duplicated timelines.
If you’re considering a wedding videographer in Kelowna alongside photography, compare the combined quote against hiring separately — and check that video is a dedicated craft with its own shooter, not a side add-on. Our wedding photography and videography are separate crafts on our team, quoted together when you want both.
How to compare quotes apples-to-apples
When quotes land in your inbox, run them through this checklist:
- How many hours of coverage — and what does “full day” mean in their terms?
- How is the event staffed, and who decides that?
- How many edited images do you receive, and how are they delivered?
- Is an engagement or pre-wedding session included?
- Album or prints included, or extra?
- Is editing and production included in the quote, or billed separately?
- Does the price include GST?
- Is travel to your venue included?
- What’s the backup plan if they’re ill on the day?
The cheapest quote and the most expensive quote might describe the same day — or two completely different ones. This list makes them comparable.
Why we don’t sell fixed packages
If you’ve been searching “wedding photography packages Kelowna,” you’ve probably seen the same three tiers everywhere — basic, standard, premium. We don’t work that way, deliberately.
Instead of asking you to choose a package first, we start by understanding your event. Once we know your timeline, your coverage requirements, and whether you need photography, videography, or both, we build a custom quote around your event.
A 40-guest vineyard wedding and a three-day celebration with multiple events are not the same job. Pricing them identically wouldn’t be fair in either direction — one couple overpays for coverage they don’t need, the other gets a team stretched too thin. A custom quote means you pay for your wedding, not someone else’s template.
And if your needs go beyond the wedding day itself — event coverage, commercial or music video work — the same approach applies: tell us what you’re planning, and we’ll scope it honestly.

FAQ
How far ahead should I book a wedding photographer in Kelowna?
Okanagan wedding vendors can book up early during the peak wedding season. Once your date and venue are confirmed, it is a good idea to start the conversation with photographers and videographers early, especially if you are planning a popular Saturday date.
Why do two quotes for the same hours differ so much?
Because hours are only one ingredient. Image count, a second shooter, an included engagement session, an album, editing time and travel policies can easily double the difference between two “8-hour” quotes. Compare the deliverables line by line.
How do you decide how many people cover my wedding?
We do — based on your timeline, your locations, and how complex the event is. Staffing is part of how we build your quote, not a separate decision you have to make or a line item you pay per person.
Is an engagement session worth it?
Practically, yes. Beyond the photos themselves, it’s a low-pressure trial run: you learn how your photographer directs, and the wedding-day portraits go faster because you’re already comfortable.
Why don’t you list fixed packages?
Because a fixed package is a guess made before we’ve met you. Our starting prices are $95/hour for local photography and $210/hour for local videography — so you know the scale. Then we build the actual quote around your event, and that’s the number that matters.
